Tidy Towns and benefits of Community Energy Projects – Webinar – 17th June 2021

Recording of Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative Home Energy Upgrades Information Webinar held on Thursday 17th June 2021. Aileen Campion from Birdhill and adjudicator with Tidy Towns will briefly discuss the benefits of community energy projects. The Tidy Towns movement & retrofitting of homes dovetails nicely together – whether it’s focusing on relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Sustainability – Doing More with less – a community’s involvement in initiatives around energy saving pays dividends.

Learn from our Project Coordinator Marcella Maher Keogh how to make your home warmer, cosier and healthier, while also saving money on home energy bills and benefitting the environment. Grants are currently available through the SEAI for measures which include: Attic Insulation; Heating Controls; Cavity, Internal & External Wall Insulation; Heat Pumps; Wood Burning Stoves; Windows and Doors; Solar panels – PV & Water. ECTC has upgraded over 800 homes and secured over €10 million in investment for Tipperary, with funding from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Launch of Energy Master Plan for ECTC

Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative launched the new Energy Master Plan on 30th of March in an online meeting. EcoEye’s Duncan Stewart was guest speaker on the night.

As a not-for-profit company, ECTC’s mission is to allow communities in Tipperary and surrounding areas, to create local employment and community benefit through reducing their carbon footprint and generating community-owned energy. Since 2012, ECTC has upgraded over 800 homes and secured over €10 million in investment for Tipperary, with funding from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. All presided over by a volunteer board of community directors.
